Knowledge is the key to Prevention
While I was working the financial crimes unit I came across so many different types of scams. A lot of the scams involved the most vulnerable, our elderly. I spent a good part of my law enforcement career educating groups and telling stories of my cases. Real cases where our seniors fell victim to someone they thought were a loved one or potential loved one. They say love is blind and in many cases the perpetrator preys on the weak by utilizing love. They get their victim to fall head over heals then something dramatic happens and they need money. These are called Romance Scams.
